Working Bikes, Chicago, Il. Working Bikes was our inspiration to start Second Chance Bikes. We like to think we are a much smaller-scale version of them, with a locally-focused clientele. We send them bikes we can't use but they can; they give us bikes with ideal configurations for our market and are a source of hard-to-find parts.

These area bike shops refer people to us to donate their old bikes. Their mechanics are always helpful with "how to" clues for obscure problems; some provide used tires. We frequently see their labels on well-used and well-loved bikes that are passed along to us for a second life by folks in the area.
